Paul Brickhill was born on Dec, 20 1916, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was an Australian writer who writes World War 2 books. The books were turned to movies.
He joined the Royal Australian Air Force and became a Pilot in Canada and United Kingdom When he was in the war he started to write about the book The Great Escape.
The book was The Great Escape. The main characters were bartlett,MacDonald, Hendley and Blythe. They have not changed. The setting took place in Stalag Luft III at a German Prison Camp.
